Kito
August 3, 2008
I bought an African grey baby from Marie at D&M Aviary in the early spring of 2005 - Marie was very patient and friendly - she took the time to ask me questions to be sure her beloved baby was getting a good loving home. After spending time with me on the phone she actually drove hours out of her way to come meet me and bring my soon-to-be-baby to see if we would be compatible....
I will never forget that moment when Marie first handed that baby African Grey to me - he was about 6 months old - and he was adorable! He was in perfect health and very well-socialized! He proceeded to munch-down the apple Marie had brought for him =)
I named him, 'Kito' which is an African name... it means 'Precious' .... he is my precious companion. It wasn't long before he was talking-up-a-storm.... the first word I heard him say was, "Smile!" although his 's' sound needed work ...since it sounded more like "Mile!" .... and he learned the usual, "Hello", "Good Morning" and even, "Hey Sexy" ...which sounded like "Hey Thexy" with his unique 's'.
He asks me "Whattcha doing?" ...... Meows like a cat, oinks like a pig, and so much more. He recently made me 'Mile' ....... showing me he has mastered the "S" sound by clearly saying, "God Blesssss You"
Thank you Marie! For raising such a wonderfully happy, healthy bird and thank you too for your continued friendship and helpful advice!!
"God Bless You!"
Respectfully,
